NONA a short film based on a Stephen King’s story
Starring Rebeca Willig as Nona and Mattia Chicco as the Kid. Directed by Massimo Volta.
This is the story of a college dropout, simply called “the kid”, who meets and falls in love with a beautiful girl named Nona while aimlessly hitchhiking in search of his father’s tomb. He is then seduced by Nona and pushed into murdering several innocent bystanders. Somewhere near Stephen King’s fictional town of Castle Rock, Nona lures the Kid to a graveyard and leads him to madness. It is not immediately clear whether or not the kid has encountered a supernatural force or if Nona is just a figment of insanity – until the last unexpected twist.
STEPHEN KING’S STORY
“Nona” is a short story written by Stephen King. It was originally published in the first edition of the Shadows anthology in 1978 and later included in King’s own 1985 collection Skeleton Crew. It’s a pretty unique story, a mix of love and ghost story, with an eerie gothic touch. The Neon Crow adaptation is an official Dollar Baby, as are called the short films approved by King himself.
Being an official adaptation Nona cannot be distributed or sold in any way, but if interested in a private screening you can contact us and we will send you a copy of the film.
